We are about to start Chapter 3. The kids are really excited now about the book. They are looking for all kinds of clues to describe the characters.

I also have plans in the works for a skit. After we have read a bit of the book, I will have my kids work with a partner to recreate a scene in the book. My kids did this two years ago, and they loved it. (I didn't read the book last year because our Grade 4 teacher read it.) I get to read it again this year, though! This will be my third time of reading the book with fifth graders.
