Vocab. activities

I have done a match up also. Each student gets either a vocab. word or definition. When you say go, they are to find their partner (we do this silently). If they think they found the match, they come to you and you say yes or no. If it is no they go back into the mix. When they get it correct they go back to their desk to work on some enrichment activity. If you have more students than words and definitions, make up sentences and write each half of the sentence on a card/piece of construction paper. My students really like this game. It works well as a review or a previous knowledge activity.
