ideas to try By Leslie

How about drawing letters in sand, tracing shapes then drawing them, using glue and sand to make raised letters, let the student feel the shapes, I think the idea is to somehow make an imprint in the brain using tactile| senses. I would ask the Occupational therapist for ideas.I don't know the age but someone who works in early childhood development could be helpful. Work on same and different as in pictures or words that are close but not the same...matching games are good for this. There is a really good handwriting program called Handwriting Without Tears that is excellent for kids with writing problems. | | This kid might have some problems with reading as well, so I would really work on language development. I would ask what are the child's strengths and use that to teach. I 've been told to teach with the strengths. Ok, folks, who else can explain perceptual motor problems and help us out here?
