growing up

Clip to ScrapBook
I have noticed that there is a wide variety of maturity in my 4th grade classroom, and a rush to have boyfriends and relationships as well.

I brought in high school studentsand used them as volunteers on specific days. THen, when needed, I'd talk to some students about hoping they'd make the same choices as the high schooler I saw them gravitate toward. These were students who chose to wait until 16-18 to have boy/girlfriends but who had been homequeening kings and queens, athletic stars, presidents of organizations, etc.

I then talked about thechoices those students had made and what their goals were to those I felt needed redirection. I don't know if it helped, but it made me feel better and gave them an idea that choices made a difference.
