treats
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
You know, just because you aren't using treats as incentives for good behavior doesn't mean your students should be deprived of all treats. Every now and then you can just say, "Hey, we've all been working real hard and I feel like a treat. How about you?" Then hand out the M&M's. You aren't rewarding good behavior, you're just taking a break from the everyday. If your kids ask about the teacher next door you need to explain in simple terms what she is doing and what you are doing differently. Kids can understand this. They may even be proud of themselves for being SELF disciplined rather than bribed.
