This was my first year teaching second grade and you are going to love it! You will learn so much and will have a great time doing it. I put reading books of all levels in baskets and put them on their desks. This way, when they are done early, they don't get up and disturb anyone. Teach them the "5" finger rule to that they can decide if the book they chose in their basket is too easy, too hard, or just right. Good thing you laminated those posters. You can write with a Visa marker (the ones you use for the overhead) and permanent. I just found out that the solution that you use for the white boards will take it off. You just have to scrub really hard. It's probably better to use permanent only because the Visa markers smear. But make sure you buy the solution. If you don't get the solution...then don't use permanent. Good luck and have a great year!
