Clip to ScrapBook
Go out right now and buy The First Days of School by Harry and Rosemary Wong. Read it cover to cover. This will give you so much guidance in starting your year. I have been teaching for ten years, and I got this book only
three years ago. I use so many of Wong's ideas... they make sense! This book will definitely give you more confidence.
As for how to teach... Did you not student teach? If not, I am curious as to where you are teaching. My advice to you is to get to know your curriculum well, find a co-teacher to plan with (two minds are better than one), preassess your students so you have a
good idea of where their needs are, and continue to visit proteacher to read the fabulous ideas and advice posted here.
Good luck! The first year's a doozie!

Just curious... where did you attend college?
