Parent/Teacher Letter

I have sent welcome letters for several years now. I always address the letter to the student and only add a P.S. for the parents (which is usually the supply list they received in April when they registered, but have probably lost by now!). I invite them to come visit our room on a specific day before school begins so they can see our classroom and find their seat. I also include a few hints of the fun things I have planned for the beginning of school. The letter usually gets tossed in the trash, but if you include a few treasures (stickers, a special name tag for the first day of school, a penny for the candy machine on my desk, etc.), that makes a big impression with the kids!
