Aaaaaaargh! By Monica

Well, I went in for my "interview" this morning. It turns out the principal doing the interviewing doesn't actually have any openings. He was just doing preliminary screening interviews of last-minute candidates, giving| them rankings, and putting their ranked files into the general pool for principals to use when they actually have openings. He was rather surprised to see me because I already have a ranking from the preliminary interview I completed IN MARCH. As a matter of fact, he was the one who conducted that preliminary interview! We decided that since I was there, we'd go ahead and do the | | interview again, in case there was something he'd missed the first time that could be added to my file. He asked the exact same questions, and I gave what I'm pretty sure were the same answers. At the end of it, he told me, "Well, I gave you a high ranking the first time, and I'll be giving you a high ranking this time. I wish I had an opening for you. I don't know why you had to do this again."So, unfortunately, my suspicion was probably right. I got plugged into this interview list because the staff member just wanted to get me off the phone. Even though this turned out to be a really annoying experience, I do want to thank everyone who gave me encouragement. I had a much better attitude going into this interview than I did on Friday!
