back-to-school idea

Here's one. I teach second grade, but I think it can work in other levels as well. I don't claim originality on this. I found it on another website somewhere and added my own flair. "Take A PEEK At Who's In Our Class".
I set up the background, border and lettering before school started. On the first day I gave each child a paper plate. They drew their face and glued yarn for hair. Then I made hand tracers which they traced and cut out. [Their own hand tracings proved to be too small to work for this project] I stapled the hands on opposite sides and folded them inward, making it look like they were

playing "peek-a-boo". As an added extra, I took a photo of each child and mounted it near their "face plate" on the bulletin board. It got a lot of positive feedback from parents and students! It was also up for Open House, too.
