I think a lot of "newbies" come into their first year of teaching and are in for a huge reality check, as unwelcome as it may be. I completely agree with the above post. Keep up your positivity! It very well could rub off on her.
At my school last year, the staff had some majorly grouchy teachers. I tried my best to avoid them in the halls because they would just sour the atmosphere, you know?
Hopefully as the year progresses, she won't take things so seriously all the time. If she continues to gripe, she should question her career choice.
