Principals
By Jade

Clip to ScrapBook
I have worked with several principals and I have never experienced one that gave a "honeymoon period" where they did not come to the classroom for a few weeks/months. Every year my principal not only comes to each classroom
on the first day of school, he also has an assembly for teachers and students to welcome us back to school and review rules and expectations. I don't view a principal coming to my room as a bad thing because I feel confident in my ability to teach a class and do it well. I welcome the principal in my classroom because then the students don't only see him in an authoritative role.
My principal sits down at the desks with groups of students when he comes in and talks to them to find out what they are doing, and then he will work with them for a few minutes. The kids get a little offended if he leaves without stopping at their group. The principal is not in charge of your class, you are, so take charge. Why don't you stop blaming everyone else for your inability to teach a class and keep a group of children under control? With your negative attitude about everything going on in education, I feel really sorry for the kids that end up in your class.
