Here's a list of some of the things I ask for from my first graders:

1 pencil box
1 box of 24 count crayons
erasers
1 pack of pencils
1 pack of washable markers
1 bottle of glue
1 glue stick
1 box of zip-loc bags
1 bottle of hand sanitizer
2 boxes of kleenex
1 pair of blunt tip scissors

I usually have one or two sets of the supplies on my list for those children that don't have all their supplies. Hope this helps!
