scarecrows

Sue, Every year when we have our scarecrow week, we make a scarecrow in my K class. I take a pair of overalls, a flannel shirt, a pair of boots and an old straw hat. Oh and loads of newspaper. I allow my students to crumple| up the newspaper and "stuff" the overall legs which I have pinned closed the bottoms. We also stuff the shirt. The shirts fits into the overalls. I attach a pair of gardening gloves. I fashion a head out of a small plastic bag which has been stuffed and pinned to the shirt. It tends to fall off. Then I put "him" in a lawn chair with arms, placing the boots at under his legs and adding | |
