I was a SAHM...
By Sue

Clip to ScrapBook
Hey, I was a SAHM - stay at home mom. I had substituted for a couple of years before I decided to go back to school.

I did use that time to get the credits I needed. I pretty much had to go back full time because I switched
from a secondary to elementary program.

For me, the program I was in was very intensive. I really worked extremely hard and now that I am a teacher, I work even harder.

I am constantly on so many teams and committees that I feel obligated to be on because I am still not tenured.

I was just sent out of town for a five-day convention.

I thought that teaching would keep me

closer with my children -- but I will warn you, I feel less involved with them. Granted I was a SAHM for several years -- but those years my children don't really remember. Now I am thinking that all they see of me is grading papers at night, typing on the computer, and doing stuff for school.

Everyone tells me that as I gain experience -- that home work will lesson.

Just be prepared for a lot of hard work...
