Rainforest decor.
By C.C.

Clip to ScrapBook
I am doing a rainforest for the first time this year also. I am a librarian at a K-4th grade school. I was given cardboard tubing boxes from our custodian which I wrapped with brown butcher paper. I made large palm leaves
from green butcher paper which I tore the edges for a ragged look, then folded down the middle and put them on the top of the tree. It looks unbelievably realistic! I want to purchase coconuts and eventually cut open for the kids to see. I have bought lots of stuffed snakes, and monkeys which I plan to hang around. I have 2 Zebra Finches at home that I plan on sharing as a class pet
for a while. I purchased netting from a craft store, which I have hung vines from on the celing. Wanted to get camoflauge netting from an Army surplus store but they didn't have any, but found mosquito netting real cheap. I may hang it also. Plan on making a tent from some of it, for my reading corner. I found lots of books an info. from a teacher store on rainforests. Hope some of this helps. Have fun!
