switching grade levels
By jan smith

Clip to ScrapBook
I to have been in your shoes! I've taught every grade (long term subbing and regular) plus 20 some years.
Important advice- map out from your curriculum what should be taught and assign it to a month. Example- 4th grade s. studies- /september- geography , ohio history - Indians Dec. Goverment
Then you have an idea of where you are going- have a goal for each subject each day- "You will learn how to use a plural noun in a sentence"-
Have a plan- let your course of study be your guide and then do what you were trained to do_ you know how-And remember, every teacher feels overwhelmed at the beginning of the year- even the "old ones".
If you show your love and compassion, your students will do well! concentrate on learning- not teaching.
