Clip to ScrapBook
I live in a relatively small county in Tennessee and there are too many teachers that want jobs! I called Central Office yesterday about two openings at an elementary school and they told me they've have 100 calls from teachers
wanting to be put on the interview list of five that is sent out for each opening! When I asked how many were local teachers, well I got no response! I pay property taxes as well as the other taxes that help fund educaiton in my county and yet they continue to hire from elsewhere. People that have to relocate. Everytime I ask why I am not hired, for teh alst two school years,
they won't tell me! I even had the Director say"Frankly Ms. ......, nobody wants you!" I asked how the principals can say that when my name doesn't get put on the interview lists? Would you believe I was told it's none of my business? There are so many of us that live here with our families and relocation isn't an option! What are we supposed to do? Education and the employment process is sick and needs to be overhauled! Just listen to the teachers on this site and the emotional devestation we are all going through! It's inhuman and needs to stop! Central Office wasn't happy when I told them, several times, that they are not to put me on the sub list because I WILL NOT SUB ANOTHER DAY FOR THEM! I subbed everytime they called me for the last two years and look where it got me! I took a three month interim in a county next to ours and a principal I'd been subbing for called my home the first morning of my new job and ripped into my husband! Sorry to go on but I'm so frustrated! I think we should all send the lind to this section of this site to every principal in every county! Or maybe they realize what they are doing and are getting a sick kick out of the power!
