Hi! I know a lot of teacher who do just what you described. It is overwhelming but I think it will help you to stay focused as the year goes on. Keep in mind some areas will need/can have more than a week devoted to them. Don;t let the calendar rule your themse but rather the amount of material and the childrens interest. Just a side note- I love planning my themes at least a month in advance so I have time to buy books and find all the really cool lessons. Good luck!
