Pictures...

...that show the American spirit...I think would be more appropriate for the little ones. There are some great photos of FDNY and flag raising, etc. that should capture our healing and courage as a nation. You could show these pics to the students and ask/discuss with them if they've seen anything like these...and then ask what symbols there are, what they mean, etc. Maybe you could have them do a simple art project of making or coloring the flag... Making or coloring the letters FDNY and USA... I'm sure there are many more creative teachers than me out there, so hopefully, there'll be more posts here. Also, have you checked out the Kindergarten Board? Have fun with those little ones this year!
