Moving on to teaching
By Rita

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there, Ann!
It is clear that you have been giving your career change to teaching some serious thought. You already have terrific ideas about how to make it happen.
Use the fact that you feel drawn to a teaching
career as a means to stay focused on your goal to teach. You are already inspired to do so!
I would suggest that you get your educational requirements taken care of as soon as you can. Since you already have a bachelor's degree, you should not have to take all that many classes to become a certified teacher.
Although volunteering in the classroom is a good idea as a means of observing
both good and ineffective teachers, you will have the opportunity to do so when you have to do your "teaching methods" and student teaching work.
One comment on the negative "stuff" you hear, don't be discouraged or held back by it. Just keep going, and you will achieve your goal.
Best wishes! Rita
