Seating Charts in Middle School
By Nikki

Clip to ScrapBook
I am beginning my third year teaching middle school. I usually make a seating chart and then change it every month or two. The kids like to change seats every ao often. We have master seating charts and we just get new copies when we want to change. The kids are very good about sitting in the assigned seat. I haven't tried this before, but I am going to start the year with the kids sitting in alphabetical order so I can learn their names more quickly. Once I know their names, I really don't need the seating chart. I keep them for substitutes and for checking attendance quickly at the beginning of each period. As far as name tags are concerned, I have never seen them in middle schools. I hope this helps!
