Clip to ScrapBook
We stayed as a group. I did ask ahead who wouldn't have anyone and found someone for them. Student gave name tags like Bob's Grandpa and showed them around a little until everyone arrived
1. Welcome from me
2. Begin
with Pledge like usual day.
3. Each student pre chose some part of the room to talk about-- calandar etc.
4. Send Grandparents to auditorium. Follow them and sing a few songs the students know and like. Use Rhythm sticks if you can. Recite a poem they learned etc.
5. Play musical chairs - hot potato with everyone sitting in a big circle and pass around a classroom toy. Give
a candy kiss to whom ever has the toy when the music stops. I pre made a tape.
6. Explain directions for rest of the time.
7. Break into child adult to have child read to them.
8. Art work assignment. I usually did a weaving as everyone could help and sign their names. I used this late for a paper heirloom by putting child's silouhette on it.
9. Snack. Punch and cookies. Children had to bring a dozen of their favorite cookie to share.
10. Ending every child presented Grandmother with paper flower and Grandpa with a magnet or bookmark made on the computer and said "Thank you for coming." Then grandparents had to search for their watercolor painting of themselves that decorated the walls-- to take home then. These gifts were all made by the children.

We all have a great time!
