Homework
By Wynona

Clip to ScrapBook
We would usually give a worksheet to complete that reviewed what was done that day or a study guide of some type. I would suggest checking worksheets together so that the students could see what they got incorrect and could
ask necessary questions. At first I collect everything but it was a lot of work and realized the students did not benefit from that system. You can also give them writing and reading assignments. I gave parts of the writing process to do at home, such as editing and final draft. I would wait until mid year to give reading assignments. Start teaching them to independently read the
reading selections in the basal or other resource. Then then could take the book home to read a whole story. Most of my experience has been in Language Arts so I can't be of much help in other areas.
