Dear Barbara,
I went through a separation and divorce during the school year 7 years ago. I kept my married name because we had a daughter and I felt it was better for her. However, if there are not any children I would| do whatever made me happy and comfortable. The only problem with that is (if you are anything like I was -- ) you may not know what you want. So my best advice is to not do anything too soon. Healing takes time and you can not avoid the pain and hurt. Please do not feel so alone. I remember very well how much of a failure I felt. to realize that he wanted the divorce and I could have done nothing to prevent it. Take your time in the decisions that can wait and for those that can't, I can't think of too many things that are written in stone. Most of all, love yourself and let others love and help you.
