good beginning

Clip to ScrapBook
Rules and procedures the first few days or even weeks. Plans procedures for everything from sharpening pencils to dismissal. Sit down an decide how you want want to handle each transition time in the day. Thats the time I find when trouble brews if you are not on top of things. Since the beginning of the school year you tend to do a review of the pervious grade then the work should be not as much of a factor as getting the kids to know how you want them to function in the class room. If there are snags in these procedures then a class meeting may give some insight on how they could be better. If you are flexable but not soft the kids will respect that.
