Beginning of the Year

I agree with PJM. My first year I made the mistake of jumping into the curriculum too quickly and not teaching rules and procedures long enough. Later in the year I wondered why it was that my class didn't have all kinds of little routines like other classes had, and I regreted not spending more time teaching them these kinds of things. I know now that I will spend longer on procedures at the beginning. You're right, the little time you spend at the beginning teaching rules and procedures is well worth it.
