Read Aloud

I read to my class at the end of the day. It works great! I have the kids pack up their bags and we clean up the classroom. When those things are finished I read aloud to them. It really is a stress free way to end the day. I don't feel rushed and the kids seem to walk calmly out to the waiting busses and cars at the end of the day. I use the time after lunch for silent reading time. This is a good time for them to come down by themselves. A nice relaxing time as well!
