read alouds
By Traci

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi!
Read alouds are a big part of our reading program for my district. Are these read alouds tended for enjoyment or to teach certain reading skills? I have to do read alouds that teach a certain skill, but I know my students enjoy hearing stories that are fun and they can just sit back and relax.

For the "enjoyable read alouds" I like to do these after lunch. This helps them to calm down from recess and to get them ready for the afternoon stretch.

They love the Wayside School books and Judy Blume.

Hope this helps!
