center thought
By Shirley

Clip to ScrapBook
If behavior is a real issue with this particular group, the centers might actually help. Perhaps you could tie centers to behavior. I have found that centers are really fun for the kids and they love the independence. They are not happy if they have to miss them. I always have one center that is pretty much a fun type of activity and could be missed without concern about skill development. This is the one that gets omitted for all or some if behavior is not acceptable. (I actually only do a full center rotation of Fridays so one of my centers is a cooking activity or craft project with either myself or the aide--guess which one some have to miss!!)
