Letter to Your Students
By Joy

Clip to ScrapBook

Hi Donna,

It sounds like you are starting a new job! Congratulations, may teaching bring you as much happiness as it has brought me. I just can't wait for another year to begin.

During the summer I write
a welcome letter to each of my students rather than writing to the parents. The children really enjoy this and it makes them feel special. Now when the parents open the mailbox they don't tell their child that they received a letter from their teacher. This may cause a little anxiety. Instead they say, "Your new teacher has written a letter to you. How exciting!"

I include a copy of my supply list. I save my parent welcome letter for the very first day of school. In this letter I welcome parents to another exciting and fun-filled year, I highlight the events which took place on the first day and I remind them to attend my parent info night where they will receive lots of very important information about the school year. You might want to try this. It's just a suggestion.

Good Luck!
