When I taught preschool, I made a "neighborhood" chart. On each house, I wrote the child's name, address, and phone number. When the child could tell me his address, I added a roof to his house. When they could tell me their phone number I connected their phone line to their house(I had made a "building" labeled phone company and then glued yarn pieces{one for each child}at the bottom of the building. Then I took the other end and glued it to their house). They love this!
