Science activity
By Mary

Clip to ScrapBook
The first activity I have my 5th graders do is to guess the number of drops of water will fit onto a penny. All you need is water droppers and a penny for each child. We talk about and fill out the Scientific Process forms, go over the vocab, do the experiment, and then talk about the variables, including the wear and tear on the surface of the penny, the ridge around the edge, surface tension and so on. It is a lot of fun too! You can also graph the results.
