Clip to ScrapBook
Kathy, I have taught 5th grade for many years now and find that they enjoy most of the things that are considered appropriate for only the lower grades. I have always had a student of the week board and that is a favorite.
The students always are excited about receiving a folder of friendly letters from their classmates at the end of the week. Friendly letters must be just that, and must include comparisons between the likes and dislikes of the letter writer and the student of the week. I have found that kids love having all the cute things hanging from the ceiling that some might think are too young
for this age group. They also love to celebrate birthdays and enjoy making birthday cards individually or as a whole class. I'm sure you're going to have a great year. I do know you'll enjoy this age level. Let me know if I can be of any help..Gail
