Reading Lists for Middle school learners
By Susan Donnelly

Clip to ScrapBook
Oh Tabitha
thank you so much
you know what, all these wonderful titles and
I began to wonder about the series.
Where there is a series, do we as teachers start from the beginning in the series and read all
of them to get to the end of a story?
Are there other series too that the students really enjoy that you can share here on this thread? Can anyone suggest a 5th-6th gr. nonfiction books, too?
Is Maniac Magee a series by Spinelli and can 5th graders read it and have fun and really learn(using guided reading questions) from these books? Are these realistic fiction books
useful for
students ?
Oh boy, now Im really excited so much to read and plan for my future students.
Can 5th graders and students with special needs read the Harry Potter series and learn and have fun I dont want to pick any title that is too hard even with using read alouds. I would love to learn how to use" Literature Circles" I guess that's a task for next summer for me to really learn and practice.
Thank you
You all make this thread exciting!
Im going to read for the rest of the summer
I believe my students are going to begin the cherished road for lifelong reading in my classroom-thanks to you
and
that's my goal
Susan
