Hometown Teaching
By Kathryn

Clip to ScrapBook
Christina,
I am a non-traditional (I finally decided what I wanted to do after I grew up ) senior elementary education major who has all intentions of returning to my hometown to teach when I finish my degree requirements. I say go for it. I think teaching in ones hometown is an advantage because you already "know" the community. Understanding where a student is from is important to teaching and what better way to understand than to have grown up and have gone to school in the same environment.
