If you can get your hands on a book called "Seeking Diversity" by Linda Rief there is a language arts unit on the elderly within it. Ask someone you know who teaches grade 7 & up. It was in widespread use about 5 - 7 years ago. Other books besides Wilfrid Gordon... Something to Remember Me By (Susan Bosak) Selina and the Bear Paw Quilt (Barbara Smucker) The Log Cabin Quilt ( Ellen Howard) The Old Woman Who Loved to REad (John Winch) Fog Cat (Marilyn Helmer) Nana Upstairs and Nana Downstairs (Tomie dePaola) Best wishes.
