I teach fourth grade also and have used the following picture books to introduce literature circle roles:
The Bracelet
The Man Who Lit the Stars
Akiak
The Brahman, the Jackal and the Tiger
Al
Let Swift River Go
various Patricia Pallaco books
various William Steig books
Miss Rumphius
I don't remember the authors. Hope this helps. There are others but don't have the list with me at home.
