teddy bears
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
I also start the year with teddy bears. I have the children bring their favorite bear to school with them on the first day and we keep them there through out the unit. (2 weeks). We graph our bears, name our bears, tell
why they are special, make a class book about our bears, etc. We also read "Jamberry". I then have a taste test with the jams mentioned in the story and we graph our favorite jam. I have a teedy bear parade & picnic on the last day of the unit. (parents are invited) We make "floats" out of shoe boxes and pull them with a string. We parade around the gym and the go outside for our
picnic. I serve teddy grahams and grapes. We usually have a :Care bear" come and visit. It is enjoyed by all. Hope this helps a little. We also read Courdoroy, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Teddy Bears Picnic, and more!
