Subbing at HS level
By Deni

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Stacey! Bless your heart for sharing something so personal about your appearance! I, too, am "well-endowed" in the bosom area as of recent years. I have learned what fashions to wear to tone down that particular feature:
Button-down blouses, as well as jacket-types of clothing really help. I NEVER wear clingy sweaters or knit tops to teach. Anyway, that would be my advice to you in teaching at HS level: Wear clothing to call attention away from that area, since you are self-conscious about it. Also, a family friend subbed for the past school year at high school level before seeking and finally
finding her full-time teaching position of high school students. She said many times she didn't tolerate ANY inappropriate behavior, and simply sent unruly students to the office. Once the rest of the class saw that she meant business, she had very few problems. It must not have been that bad since she still wants to teach high school! She said it's just a matter of setting the tone, just like the rest of us do in other grade levels. So, I'd give it a try for a school year and then decide if you're cut out for the high school kids. Good luck, Stacey!
