dismissal

Now I think this is a great topic - I've been in the classroom 10 years and i am still having a dilemma about bus dismissal. It has been the worst part of the day for me as it seems my carefully crafted routines for the rest of the day just aren't in place at bell time! My kids would never line up pushing on the door but I have seen this in my hall. I try to have them get their things and then sit and wait for buses to be called - this procedure is OK but the kids on the last bus are sitting there for 20 minutes. How do the rest of you handle this? ( I have grade 2)
