level

Clip to ScrapBook
One of the most important things you need to do is find out exactly where their reading level is and make sure you begin at that level. Get books that spark their interest, yet are lower level. As you probably know, there is nothing more frustrating for a child then trying to make them read above their level.
One book you might want to read is What Really Matters for Struggling Readers by Richard L. Allington. This book is full of research- based strategies that really work.
Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll do a great job with your students!
