Birthday Board By Connie

First of all, congratulations on getting your job!
I taught second graders for seven years and am changing this year to sixth grade(my choice).
I really enjoyed the second graders. They love their teacher and want to

please her/him most of the time. One of their favorite BBoards over the years has always been my birthday board. I place a poster made cake in the middle. Each child has a candle with their name on it and their birthdate. I put up a few colored paper balloons, also. But, what they loved the most were their birthday bags. I bought them at the dollar store and filled them with cute trinkets,

bookmark, card, pencil etc. When the child's birthday came then they got their own bag. They always looked forward to getting their
"birthday bag". It makes their day even more special!
Have a great year and enjoy those second graders.

By the way, the reason I am switching to 6th grade is the curriculum. I am ready for the tougher material.
