Caught you Being Good
By Jo

Clip to ScrapBook
Funny how ideas are used in classes and schools alike.
Our whole school uses the Caught You Being Good card. This is a small photocopied paper token given out to students who exhibit the sorts of behaviours we are trying
to encourage in our school. They can be awarded in the playground, on assembly, in class , pretty much anywhere in the school. Teachers give them out to children who aren't even in their classes.
Like Rebecca's system, the children print their name and class on the token and put it in the Caught You Being Good Box. Every Friday in morning assembly, the teacher running the assembly
draws three names from the box and the children get to choose something from a box of prizes.
Some children like to collect their tokens over a long period of time before they put them in the box. The more they have in there, the greater their chance of winning.
Interestingly enough, when I give my class a choice between CYGB cards or coupons for the class auction, they choose the class auction every time.
Both ideas are great positive methods for encouraging the types of behaviours we want to see in our classes and schools alike.
