Help on leveling books
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Betsy,
I hope this isn't too late...on leveling your books, I'd concentrate on the ones you're planning to use for guided groups at first, then move to the others in your library. It's nice to have the levels somewhere until you're more comfortable picking up a book and leveling it yourself. On the AR books, there are DEFINITE differences in text level correlations to the leveling system done in GR & W. We did correlations at the primary and intermediate levels, wow what a vast spread. The AR books are leveled by syllables/paragraphs, etc. not by all the other variables. I'd just watch the preprinted lists you get and 'edit' them to suit your readers.
Best of luck on your library! ;-D
