regarding rules and consequences

Hi! This is my first year teaching, so I am also still pondering what I will be using as a discipline system. I will also be teaching second grade. For positive reinforcement, I am going to use lunch club. The seating arrangement| in my classroom will be groups. If students are working quietly, on task, etc, they will receive a point for their group. On Friday, the group with the most points will be able have lunch club. They will eat in the classroom with me. I will provide an extra treat for them and give them a sticker of their choice. They will also be allowed to play board games if they choose to stay | |
in for recess. I've seen it done in other classes, and it seems to work.
As for consequences for negative behavior, I am still having a problem coming up with a system. I like the idea using the shapes and the clothespins. My consequences will be:
1)Warning
2) Loss of priviledges
3) Loss of recess
4) Call home to parents
5) Meeting with Principal and parentsHope this helps! I know I am not a veteran teacher, but I've seen these things work in other classrooms.
