Anything by Barbara Park will get your kids laughing and relating to the characters. I read Dear God, Help! Love, Earl. It's about a kid who gets teased a lot at school and he pays the class bully each day to avoid getting beat up. It is written in a light manner but it really addresses the issue of bullying. Other books by Barbara Park that my students enjoy are Skinnybones, Almost Starring Skinnybones, Operation Dump the Chump, Rosie Swanson, 4th Grade Geek for President. The kids crack up laughing and so do I!!
