shortages By Monica

It depends on the geographic area and the subject. In California, for example, many schools are desperate for high-school math and science teachers, but I know high-school teachers of other subjects who are having a tough time finding an opening. Districts in the inner cities and low-income rural areas have teacher shortages, but suburban districts don't. I would be wary of any agency that makes the broad claim that "the U.S. needs lots of teachers," especially if the agency charges you a fee to help you find a job in the U.S.
