I am also of the impression that misbehavior is on-going--that turning cards, checkmarks on the board, missed recess, etc.--that all the traditional methods we have employed for years just don't work for many kids. What's worse, I think many of the parents wonder what's wrong with US and why we are so "mean" with the children. I really get tired of being called "mean," when all I am trying to do is create order within the classroom and not cave into the kids' whims like their parents do! Sorry, I know this isn't a vent board, but I really would like some solutions to this frustrating problem.
