So for this person who is thinking about moving to Canada - she should be aware that NOT ALL rural areas offer the same opportunities. It's simply a fact of life, it is not bias. I have lived in my community now for 9 years - I love it - but it definitely has it limitations. No movie theatres, our only swimming pool is 80 km away, any sports teams or leagues are developed by parents and usually only for a year and then often nothing for a year or two, no groups like brownies, scouts, etc., my bank is even 80 km away. And every province is quite different. Your province might just have more in the way of hockey than my province does (at least in my area). Personally I would never prefer to live in a large city again - but that's not for everyone either. And not everyone wants to travel 200 km several times a week. I'm also curious - do you travel 200 km one way or this a round trip. If it is indeed one way I commend you for obviously putting a lot of time and energy into your family.
